Book 1 Chapter 1 Rejection

Aprils pov.

"I Jake Currington alpha of the dark moon pack reject you April Robinson as my mate and the Luna of this pack." He said with no emotion. " I...April Robinson .. accept your rejection.." I said through tears. 5 hours earlier: I wake up with a huge smile on my face! Its finally here! I'm finally eighteen! I make my way through the house and finally get to the kitchen. I am greeted with the amazing smell of pastries! "Hey mom! " I say as I give her a kiss on the cheek. "Hello darling." She says." Happy birthday! " she says excitedly! "Thanks mum." I say. "Today you might find your mate, are you excited?" She says. "Honestly mum I'm not. What if I don't find him? I don't want to be too disappointed. I have to go now..I'm late for school." I say. I get in my car and head to school. Well I realize now that you don't know anything about me. Maybe I should tell you just a little bit. My name is April Robinson and I'm a werewolf. You might be thinking " what? A werewolf?" But it's true we actually exist. Today I have the hopes of finding my mate. A mate is a werewolfs soul mate. A significant other. Mates are supposed to love you and care for you like no other person does or ever will. At the age of eighteen is when most werewolves find their mates. I reach school and make my way towards my locker. Skips to lunch time: I have no friends in this school and hence I always eat my lunch in the library . I haven't found my mate yet (if you were wondering!) And I don't think I will. The bell rings and I make my way to class. The teacher called in sick so we had a substitute today. Just when I am about to continue reading " all the bright places" I hear a knock on the door .. 'Yes, come in!" The substitute says. When the door opens I am hit with the most amazing scent ever, it smells woodsy and it makes my hormones turn hay wire! "Mate! Mate! Mate!" Snow (my wolf) screams in excitement. I am happy too but that is before I see who it is. No ! no! no! It can't be! The future Alpha of this pack can't be my mate! The look of disgust he gives me let's me know that my mate feels the same. "The principal wants to see April Robinson " his voice stirred something in me. Wait what? What did I do? I stand up and make my way to the principals office. It is just him and I in the hallways . I start walking towards the principals office but I'm stopped when something pulls me back. " April, I know you are my mate " he says. " I know that too! Could this day get any better? " I say enthusiastically. "Actually it can. I Jake Currington future alpha of the dark moon pack reject you April Robinson as my mate and future Luna of this pack.." he says with no emotion. I feel my heart breaking and the tears start flowing on their own accord.. " w...h...y.." I stammer. " I need a female to bear me strong alpha pups. And honestly you are not that female.." he says. Well if my heart broke before it sure as hell is shattered now! " I April Robinson accept your rejection." I say and walk away from my supposed mate before I break down more in front of him.

Hurting

Aprils pov

The second I make it to my car,I get on it and drive really fast. I try to run away from everything but the pain I feel is too much. Am I not enough? What did I do wrong? Am I not good enough to be a Luna? All my hopes of finding a mate and having a happily ever after died in that hallway. The tears start rolling on their own and it makes it hard to see the road. Suddenly, I feel a force pushing the car forward and I hit the steering wheel but before I can make out what is happening to me, the darkness envelopes me...... Later in the day: I wake up to a pounding headache. It feels like I'm being hit by a hammer repeatedly. It hurts to open my eyes but I have to. The darkness is too depressing. I open my eyes and the bright light almost blinds me. It takes a couple of seconds before my eyes adjust to the light and that's when I realise I am in a familiar room, not just any room but MY room. I see a figure sleeping on the couch that is next to the bed. " Mom?" I call out my voice sounding hoarse. She stirs slightly. "Mom? " I call out again. "Oh my Goddess April, are you okay? Tell me where it hurts baby." She says rushing to my side. "What happened mom?" I ask. "I wanted to go out for grocery shopping when I saw your car but what surprised me was the fact that it appeared as though you were being followed because the black car was going at your pace and had every chance to overtake you and yet he/she didn't. Then suddenly the black car hits you and you lose control of the car and hit a tree, I dropped everything that I was carrying and ran towards your car. I tried to find out who was driving that car but all the windows were tinted and the car had no number plate. I carried you inside the house and proceeded to call the pack doctor. She came ten minutes later and said you might suffer from a concussion because you hit your head pretty hard and now here we are." She says quickly. That explains the major headache I am suffering from. "Honey, why were you even out of school early? Did something happen?" She asks me worriedly. "Mom...he...he...he..." I barely say the words. She pulls me into a tight hug. "Mom..he..he rejected me.." I say while crying. " I'm sorry baby! He does not deserve you...Who is he? " she demands while stroking my hair. "It doesn't matter mom! He broke my heart! " I say. I could literally feel my heart breaking. " TELL ME! " she demands. "It's the future alpha mom! " I say. She looks horrified at what I just said , she let's me go and makes a beeline for the door. Before she steps out of the door she gives me one final look and then proceeds to leave , closing the door softly behind her. Although I don't miss the look of vengeance in her eyes...

Aprils pov.

"Mom? Where are you going? " I say while struggling to get out of the bed. What was that look of vengeance in her eyes? What was she planning to do? I walk out of my room and I look for my mom's scent. I go downstairs and make my way to the pack house. "How dare you do this?" I can hear my mom screaming. "She is your mate for gods sake, why would you reject her? "My mom continues. " Son, is this true? "The alpha said. "Yes it is dad!" My pathetic mate said. "Why?" The alpha asks. "Have you seen her? She is absolutely pathetic and she doesn't even have any ranks. My pups would be too weak and all because of the useless excuse of a mother they are going to have ! "He says with no emotion. My heart breaks all over again at his hurtful words. What did I do to deserve all this? Couldn't I get a loving, caring mate? Instead I have to have this selfish bastard as my mate! "What did you just call me?" My mates voice snaps me out my thoughts. Wait...what? Did I actually say that out loud? " YES YOU DID! HOW DARE YOU INSULT MY SON AND YOUR FUTURE ALPHA! YOU SHOULD KNOW YOUR PLACE! "The alpha says in his alpha voice and I start trembling in fear. " I...I'm..I'm...I'm..." I stammer. "You see father? My pathetic excuse of a mate can't even form a proper sentence! How do you expect me to accept her when she is so weak?" he says. There goes my heart breaking again. "Mom, please come with me." "We will have a pack meeting in one hours time. You must attend!....."Now get out! " he says the last part with disgust. We walk out of the pack house and go straight to our house.. One hour later: " I called this meeting to announce something." The alpha begins. "Today the Robinson family insulted your future alpha! I cannot tolerate such behaviour! You must respect your alpha at all costs! " he says. " they did not do that so today I will set an example for anyone who ever tries to insult, disobey or question your present and future alphas." He continues. "Will Mark and Rebecca Robinson please step forward." My parents step forward while giving me hopeful smiles even though there is nothing good about this situation. " FOR DISRESPECTING YOUR FUTURE ALPHA I SENTENCE YOU TO DEATH! YOUR EXECUTION WILL BE HELD TOMORROW AT NOON...TAKE THEM TO THE DUNGEONS! " He says with his alpha voice.. There are gasps from the crowd. "Isn't that a little too extreme? "Someone in the crowd asked. " SILENCE! " he roars! "You will do exactly what I say! If anyone has a problem kindly raise your hand!" He says with sarcasm dripping from every word. When no one steps forward, he continues : "Now, April Robinson please step forward! " He says. I take a step forward and I can feel all eyes on me and it makes me uncomfortable. "Since you are very weak. I will give you a position that you deserve. From tomorrow noon you will be the packs omega! You will take orders and do them accordingly! No questions asked." He says. An omega? Seriously? Once I become an omega I will never be able to feel my wolf again...no please no! "Son,what do you think about it?" "It's perfect father! Just perfect!" He says while smiling wickedly at me.
